DOHA

I have to say that my pictures alone will not do this justice. My trip to Doha was amazing. Most of the things that made it over the top, you can't see in pictures. I'm thankful over and over again for such a perfect treat with the best hostess ever. I knew it would be fun but what I didn't expect was what a break it would be for me. That had a ton to do with my wonderful parents, and rock star sister, Julianne, taking care of my little guys back in Coppell, also.

I really haven't felt so refreshed since I became a mom. I can't explain why except that I was on a different continent than my children :) and just a simple but profound answer to prayer. As I got to hang with the Junod crew I also got far enough away from my crew to get a refreshed perspective on things. It was a God thing and not one I specifically expected. The new perspective was probably long over due so I'm sure someone was lifting up that prayer for me. I also think it was just a special gift from my Heavenly Father. Love it when He lifts me up in unexpected ways.

The time change and all could have taken a toll but it didn't. We kept very busy and I loved every minute. Wendi's blog goes through specifically what we did so check that out if you're interested.

I would like to say that the culture was one of the most entertaining things to me. I didn't expect to be so interested in it, but I was. The Qatari people are way over the top when it comes to bling, bling. I think I saw a Bentley soon after landing and then two Porsche Cayennes. I made a comment to Nick and he told me to just wait, because that's how they roll here. He wasn't kidding. The Qatari people pride themselves on wealth and I didn't expect that. It seems so contrary to their religion. They cover up their bodies but the purse, shoes, and sunglasses they wear, are right off Rodeo Drive. It actually made me feel like being a "spoiled American" wasn't near as bad as what these people have going on. I know not all Muslim countries are wealthy, but this was my first experience with them and it was very different than my perspective before.

Awesome story - enjoyed the fact that the Lord brought you a fresh perspective while you were away. So glad you got to go! Wish I could have made the trip with you...
