High Divin'

Hudson decided to jump off the diving board today!

It's a small miracle that I had my camera and that I got some pictures considering the spontaneity of it all. What a little dare devil! He has never had swim lesson but loves the water. He was determined. This was his SECOND attempt up the ladder. The first time he decided not to go but a few minutes later he was ready to go for broke. Love the way his little heart trust daddy in the water considering Hudson can't swim on his own. Wow!

The only thing I missed was Major insisting on following big bros lead and jumping also. I held him off for a little while but he would have none of it. Stephen took Major up on the board and walked him to the edge thinking Major would decided not to go, but that's not what happened. Stephen finally got to the end of the board holding Major and they JUMPED! Stephen said Major's face when they came up was priceless. It looked like he might not want to do that again for awhile, but you have to give it to him for trying.

All at once, several of the boys took off for the street. Yes, that makes since guys. Leave the 4 swimming pools, slip n slide, sprinkler, pizza, and ice cream sundaes for the street.

There was pure three year old craziness as the kids FINALLY got to eat sundaes. Hudson's in the back. He kept following me around and then ended up at the back of the line.

This school year was so great for Hudson. I love his teachers and he really grew a lot. He went from not potty trained at all to a total pro with the help of his teachers. He was technically supposed to be potty trained for the beginning of school but after a few accidents we got the go ahead to wear pull-ups and try again later. It really took the pressure off for something I didn't think he was really ready for. We also worked through being a little rough in the first semester to staying on green the majority of the time. This school has been around for awhile. I have friends in Victoria that went to PDS when they were little. I love that! His teachers, Joni and Mary have taught there for a long time and they really do so many fun and creative things with the kids. My favorite thing is the way they love them. Hudson will have them again next year! We're keeping him with them so he'll be in class with the kids he'll go to kindergarten with... eventually. That August 31st birthday will make him one of the oldest in the class next year instead of the absolute baby. Major will go to school for the first time in the 2 year old class. We'll be praying hard all summer for all those sweet teachers.

Stephen's 33rd Birthday

I took the boys to the dollar store to pick out a present for Stephen. Hudson picked out a yo-yo that looks like a tire, of course. Here he is giving it to his daddy.

Major picked out a pack of dinosaurs for dad. Major also chose to sleep through the morning activities and this is such a rarity that we let him sleep on. I can count on one hand the times he has slept past 7am. That's right, he's usually up in the 5 or 6 o'clock hour.

Here is Stephen with his new kicks from yours truly and Hudson is holding the card that he and Major gave daddy.

A few days later, we had The Fergusons in town as a special treat and had a fun time. The kids played great together. Hudson and Reid even had a sleep over in Hudson's bunk beds. They didn't go right to sleep but it was so cute to hear them talking when we left. At one point they were deciding the odds of getting spanked if they got up again. We didn't see them after they talked through that scenario so I guess their 3 year old wisdom got the best of them. We even had a babysitter watch all 4 kids Saturday night while the adults had a nice dinner and quiet time. It was a great end to Stephen's birthday week.

To Infinity and Beyond

Major kept eating huge pieces of cantaloupe by putting it in his mouth and slowly chomping until it was gone. He walked all over the place with a cantaloupe beak, or that's what I called it.

Good Morning Birthday Boy

I guess I didn't get pictures of him opening presents but he did receive a whoopy cushion and it was hours of fun.

This seems to be the reason there aren't any pictures of him opening his presents. I was behind the video camera.

He got lots of cool train stuff: all different kinds of Thomas', lots of tracks, a really cool boulder lift contraption. He loved it and so did Hudson.

He came in with RayRay and Champ. They took the boys for awhile that morning so Stephen and I could get organized for the big party.

I realize now that this is Major checking out the finger that he burnt on his candles. Oops! It happens, right?

When we get a picture that actually has all smiling and looking, I'll send everyone a copy. Although my children will most likely be in high school when this happens, and I can really threaten them with taking a car away or giving an early curfew.

Air hockey is probably his favorite game at Chuck E. Cheese. He loves it and can beat me without any special help. I'm not very good at air hockey but I did think I might give a two year old a run for his money. It's a close game.
